PARIS- Defending champion Novak Djokovic reached the French Open third round on Wednesday with a 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 win over Joao Sousa of Portugal.

The world number two goes on to face Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman, who has made the third round of a major for the first time, for a place in the last 16.
