Filoil: San Beda escapes Perpetual in OT
Even coach Boyet Fernandez admitted that San Beda just got lucky in its 64-61 victory over Perpetual in the 2017 Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup Friday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
“If I were to give the game, I’ll give it to Perpetual,” lamented the mentor.

Robert Bolick flubbed three of his four chances at the charity stripe in the overtime period, but his lone bucket was enough to hold off the Altas in the end, keeping the Red Lions unscathed through four games.
“They deserved this win. We didn’t deserve the win,” said Fernandez.

He finished with 12 points on a 5-of-9 shooting clip to lead San Beda.
“We’re just lucky they missed their foul shots and we made our shots in regulation,” Fernandez said.
Flash Sadiwa missed a chance to secure the win for Perpetual in the fourth quarter, muffing his freebies which allowed San Beda to make the game-tying play.
Kemark Cariño added 10 markers, five rebounds, and a block, while Arnaud Noah also chipped in 10 for the Red Lions.
Daryl Singontiko topped Perpetual (2-5) with 19 points and six rebounds in the heartbreaker.
