Big Chill seeks share of PBA D-League top spot

MANILA, Philippines—Big Chill coach Arsenio Dysangco doesn’t expect an easy time against newcomer Dub Unlimited when his Superchargers go for a share of the lead in the PBA D-League Monday.

Dysangco said his boys need to be extra sharp in their 4 p.m. encounter to secure a third win in the Aspirants’ Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

“They beat us in our preseason game,” Dysangco said of the Wheelers, who remain winless in three outings.

“They are a very dangerous team that has been consistently improving every game.”

RnW Pacific Pipes takes on another winless squad in Café France at 2 p.m.

Although underrated, the Superchargers have been effective behind Raffy Reyes, Jewel Ponferrada, Jessie Collado and Alex Mallari.

Another triumph will put the Superchargers on top with idle Cebuana Lhuillier and Freego Jeans at 3-0.

The Wheelers, admittedly still working on their cohesion, hope to recover from a heartbreaking 78-77 setback against the Steelers last week.

University of Santo Tomas star Jeric Teng leads a potentially strong Dub crew that also includes University of the East standout Paul Zamar, Raymond Aguilar and Mar Villahermosa.

The Steelers, meanwhile, hope to stay in the upper half of the standings when they shoot for a second victory in four games with Kevin Racal and Jim Viray at the helm.

The top two teams at the end of the single-round elimination will earn outright semifinal berths, while the third to sixth placers will advance to the quarterfinals.
