The Philippine Tennis Association will hold its election of officers Friday even without the blessings of the Philippine Olympic Committee.
Philta secretary general Romy Magat announced that the association would push through with the polls as scheduled to end the leadership tug-of-war that has been hurting the performance of the national team.
“We’ve been postponing these elections three times already. I see no more reason why we should not proceed tomorrow,” said Magat.
POC secretary general Steve Hontiveros, however, said the POC won’t be sending an observer in the polls, practically making the elections null and void.
