Jaja Santiago lifts Tornadoes to second victory

There’s no stopping Jaja Santiago Saturday night.

The talented, 6-foot-5 utility hitter led Foton to a 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, 25-15 victory over Generika-Ayala in the Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The national team stalwart amassed 35 points to dominate the match as the Tornadoes plucked their second straight win in as many games and hand the Lifesavers their first loss in two starts.

Santiago had 30 attack points, two blocks and three aces for Foton, which was still trying to adjust to one another after a major offseason revamp.

The Lifesavers snatched the third set on a spike by former Foton gunner Angeli Araneta.

“We relaxed in the third set and lost our service receives,” said Santiago. “But in the fourth, we brought our service game back.”
