Defending Superbikes champion Marvin Mangulabnan staged a big comeback victory in Race 2 to capture two titles in the 2017 Pirelli Superbikes Series held recently at Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.
Mangulabnan bagged the Superbikes Open and Expert crowns over power duo Troy and TJ Alberto.
He was the fastest in the time trials with a 1:51.387 clocking. Kickoff leg winner Troy Alberto took command early but Mangulabnan wrested the top spot and rule the 10-lap pre-final race, 5.157 seconds ahead of Troy.
Troy copped the Superbikes Intermediate title over older brother TJ while Jason Park ruled Superbikes Novice.
Ten-time Superbikes champion Jolet Jao also clinched his second consecutive triumph over John Defensor and Manuel Chu.—STEVE SILVA, CONTRIBUTOR
