Two years have passed, but Robert Bolick shared that San Beda still seethes from its NCAA Season 91 defeat to Letran which denied the school a rare six-peat.

“I reminded them how tough the feeling was when we were on our six-peat drive. It was painful for us because [Letran] took the pride out of us. I told everyone who was playing then to take it personal and be competitive against them,” he said.

Bolick continued his revenge tour on Sunday as he carried the Red Lions to a 75-63 victory over the Knights in the 2017 Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup.

The senior playmaker took matters to his own hands as he finished with 17 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

But Bolick said he’s still not satisfied with the triumph over Letran, knowing that the Knights came into the game without Rey Nambatac, who is recovering from a hyperextended left knee.

“We’re still not satisfied because Rey still isn’t there and there were times when we seemed like we’ll lose the game. So what we want is to stay competitive, play as a team, and stay hungry,” he said.

There’s no denying that come NCAA Season 93, San Beda will be Bolick’s squad.

And to no one’s surprise, the 6-foot-1 guard expressed his reluctance to the tag, opting to share the spotlight to his teammates like an empowering leader Fernandez brands him as.

“I don’t look at myself as a go-to guy. In my mind, I’m just a role player and I play in the system of coach Boyet (Fernandez). Anyone here can be a playmaker, so when I have the ball, I just want to make good decisions, find my open teammate. If I have the shot, I’ll take it,” he said.

“That’s what I tell to his team, that there’s no go-to-guy here. If you have the shot, take it. If you think what you’ll do will help the team, do it.

The Red Lions, however, know the ball should be in the hands of Robert Bolick come winning time.
