The International Little League Association of Manila (ILLAM) Seniors baseball team is set to compete in the Asia Pacific Championship (Aspac) to be held in Saipan from June 23 to 30.

The team is chasing a berth in the Little League Seniors (16 and under) World Series in Easley, South Carolina, slated July 29 to August 5.

The ILLAM team is composed of players from Ateneo, Manila Waldorf, Everest International and International School of Manila.

They are led by multititled UAAP baseball coach Randy Dizer and manager Nayda Mitschiener.

Meanwhile, Team Manila will see action in the 2017 PONY International 18-U Girls Softball World Series to be held July 24 to 30 in California USA.

This will only be the second time that the Philippines or Asia will be sending a girls softball team to this World Series.

Team Manila softball president Rafael “Che” Borromeo is upbeat of their chances in the World Series.

“I think this is quite a strong team and the girls will give a good account of themselves in the World Series,” said Borromeo.
