RMSC not going down

Businessman Enrique Razon has no intention of tearing down the heritage-rich structures inside the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex once a deal to develop the area has been finalized with the city of Manila.

Philippine Sports Commission Chair Butch Ramirez said the Razon group has promised to preserve the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, swimming pool, ballpark and football stadium.

Ramirez said high-rise structures would be built within the walls of the 8.4-hectare property while maintaining the facade and structure of the historical sites.

Ramirez said the PSC will gain at least P5 billion from the deal that would help finance a new sports complex.
