The Philippine Sports Commission has rewarded Davao City the bonus it rightfully deserves for finishing third overall in the Batang Pinoy 2016 National Championships.

PSC senior executive assistant Ronnel Abrenica released the P150,000 incentive to Davao City administrator Zuleika Lopez and Michael Denton Aportadera, officer-in-charge of the City Sports Development Division, on behalf of Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio.

“The incentives offered to the winners are not a lot, but it shows the PSC’s recognition for the LGU’s efforts in becoming partners for sports development,” said Abrenica.

Batang Pinoy overall champion Baguio City and second placer Cebu City have earlier received their cash incentives for topping the multisport event for children 17 years old and below.

The PSC will hold the Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao qualifying legs late this year prior to the February 2018 national championships.
