Championship may open PBA door for Racal Motors

A PBA D-League title has become an obsession for Racal Motors in the ongoing 2017 Foundation Cup.

Aside from making its brand doubly popular, team owner Jad Racal knows that being No. 1 could mean strengthening their bid for a Philippine Basketball Association stint.

“That’s our main goal,” said Racal. “We’ve been trying to get the top players in the market to strengthen our lineup. We also have an efficient coaching staff who I believe could deliver.”

Racal, with former pro Jerry Codiñera as coach, lost to Cignal in the Aspirants Cup finals.

“Once we get the championship, the value and recall of the team will definitely increase,” said Racal.

With scorers Mac Tallo, Rian Ayonayon and do-it-all guard Kent Salado, who recently delivered a rare triple-double (11 points, 13 assists, 10 rebounds) in a 140-90 runaway victory over Zark’s Burger, the Alibaba are enjoying a 2-0 start.
