MANILA, Philippines — A video showing the “foot tricks” played by Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez against Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao during their bout Saturday night (Sunday in Manila) in Las Vegas, Nevada is going viral over YouTube and Facebook, a report from Radyo Inquirer 990AM said Tuesday.

The video entitled “Foot Stopper Trick by Juan Manuel Marquez” caught the counter-puncher stepping on Pacquiao’s foot six times.

The video showed Marquez stepping on Pacquiao’s foot during the last 0:11 seconds of the 4th round; 1:18 seconds of the 6th round; 1:49 seconds of the 7th round; 1:27 seconds of the 8th round; 1:23 seconds and last 0:52 seconds of the 12th round.

Apart from the video, a picture also spreading on social networking sites showed a member of Marquez’s team giving the Mexican boxer a plastic bottle of unknown yellow fluid.

According to WBO rules, a boxer who is engaged in a fight is only allowed to drink water.

Pacquiao won over Marquez via majority decision. His victory stirred controversy as the public here and abroad thought that Marquez had won or should, at the very least, have gotten a draw.

Marquez said he was “robbed again” of the victory, following two other controversial matches with the Filipino eight-time world champion in 2004 and 2007 which ended in a draw and split decision respectively.
