The Philippines bowed out of contention in the 2017 Fiba 3×3 World Cup after finishing third in Pool B with a 2-2 record.

Jeron Teng took charge late as the Nationals turned back El Salvador, 21-14, to close their campaign on a positive note, hours after the Philippines bowed to Slovenia, 21-14, Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila) at Parc des Chantiers de I’lle in Nantes, France.

Slovenia (4-0) and France (3-1) topped Pool B to advance to the next round.

Teng, the former La Salle standout, scored four of the Filipinos’ last six points before Kiefer Ravena, who was still nursing a wounded left elbow from the Slovenia game, sealed the victory with a two-pointer with 1:18 left on the clock.
