LOS ANGELES—Forward Blake Griffin has opted out of his contract with the Los Angeles Clippers and will become an unrestricted free agent next week, the US media reported Friday.

Point guard Chris Paul is expected to follow Griffin into NBA free agency next week but the moves were expected and there is a good chance both will remain with the Clippers.
