Janry Ubas continued his golden streak with another victory in men’s long jump at the Hong Kong Intercity Athletics Championships.

Just two weeks ago, the decathlete from Cagayan de Oro ruled the same event in the Thailand Open Track and Field Championships right after breaking the Southeast Asian Games record during the trials held early this month.

Ubas jumped 7.67 meters on his third attempt to defeat Hong Kong’s Chan Ming Tai (7.50m) and Wong Ka Chun of Macao (7.25m).

Ubas eclipsed the 10-year SEA Games standard of Henry Dagmil (7.87m) with a 7.88m effort during the trials and is poised to win the event in the Kuala Lumpur Games.

Also winning gold in Hong Kong were Filipinos Katherine Khay Santos (6.06m in women’s long jump); Patrick Unso, who clocked 14.02 seconds in the 110m hurdles; and 200m winners Archand Bagsit (21.71 seconds) and Eliza Luzon (24.78).
