For his stellar play all through the season, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook bagged the 2017 NBA Most Valuable Player of the Year Award on Monday (Tuesday in Manila).

His ex-teammate Kevin Durant, a former MVP himself, took to his official YouTube page to congratulate the enigmatic superstar.
“Huge congrats to Russell Westbrook on MVP, that boy went out there and was a created player on 2k all year, F**kin balled out,” he wrote. “Gotta respect it!”
The pair’s now-rocky relationship was one of the biggest story lines this season, after Durant decided to leave Oklahoma for the Golden State Warriors.
The two also figured in a brief but heated exchange during their match-up last January, but shared quite the moment during the All Star game the following month, connecting on an alley-oop just like the old times.
