Battle of Brisbane: Mosley Jr. disappoints, Toussaint stays unbeaten

Australian pugilist David Toussaint prevailed over Shane Mosley Jr. via a split decision victory in their middleweight clash in the Battle of Brisbane Sunday at Suncorp Stadium.

Toussaint remained unbeaten in his professional career and improved to a perfect 11-0 (8 KOs) while Mosley Jr. saw his eight-fight winning streak stopped and slipped to 10-2 (7 KOs).

Judges Paul Tapley and Allan Burford gave Toussaint the same 77-76 scores while Tony Kettlewell had Mosley winning on his card with a 77-75 advantage.

Mosley Jr. never showed movement in the first rounds and was subject to a constant beating Toussaint dished out.

The son of the legendary Sugar Shane Mosley, Mosley Jr. received multiple hooks to the head throughout the fight and only managed to turn the corner in the seventh when he was able to land some quality jabs to the head of Toussaint.
