Cocolife holds off Generika
Cocolife nearly blew away a two-set lead before repulsing Generika-Ayala, 25-18, 25-22, 17-25, 19-25, 15-10, in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at Imus Sports Complex Tuesday.
Michelle Gumabao exploded with 27 points, including three blocks and three aces as Cocolife assured itself of at least sixth place in the conference.
After occupying fifth place for most of the preliminaries, the Lifesavers will now figure in a battle for seventh and eighth places.
Article continues after this advertisement“We needed this game that’s why we prepared well and worked very hard for this; that was our mind-set coming into the game,” said Gumabao, who also had 10 excellent digs.
“We wanted it more it’s a do-or-die for us, so each set and each point had to be ours,” she added.
Generika-Ayala turned a 0-2 set deficit into a deciding set behind Fiola Ceballos, Angeli Araneta and Mika Lopez.
