Pocari Sweat turned back BanKo Perlas, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 27-25, for its second straight win in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Wednesday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

Perlas Spiker Ella De Jesus had the unfortunate mistake of awarding the Lady Warriors the victory when her final attack went awry.

Pocari Sweat improved to 2-0 while the Perlas Spikers are now at 0-2.

Pocari’s win exposed head coach Rico De Guzman’s worry of his team’s habit of lagging and allowing opponents to catch up.

The Lady Warriors held a 22-20 lead in the fourth set, but the Perlas Spikers managed to take a momentary 23-22 lead due to Jeanette Panaga’s error.

“That’s what I told them, we will go up by three or four but we will commit those errors,” said De Guzman. “I said that we’re allowing ourselves to play the same pace as the opponents.”

Myla Pablo and Desiree Dadang eventually weathered the storm for Pocari putting the Lady Warriors at 26-25.

Pablo unleashed 23 points to lead the Lady Warriors while getting ample support from Kai Nepomuceno who had 14 points, and Panaga and Elaine Kasilag who finished with 13 and 11, respectively.

De Jesus led BanKo Perlas with 14 points.
