Letran to enjoy full-strength roster as Quinto, Calvo stay put

Despite the controversy surrounding Letran less than a week before NCAA Season 93, coach Jeff Napa is just glad to have his full roster in time for the men’s basketball wars.
“We’re glad that we’re complete again and I know for myself that we’re ready coming into the battle,” the teary-eyed mentor said in Filipino during the Knights’ pep rally on Thursday.
Rumors swirled the past two days that forward Bong Quinto and guard JP Calvo were sitting out this season and reportedly transferring elsewhere.
But the two put an end to the issue after appearing at the pep rally, just two days before the NCAA opening on Saturday.
Together with Rey Nambatac, Quinto and Calvo are veterans who Napa expects will be a pivotal part of the Knights’ run this year.
Letran opens its season against Mapua on Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
