Tim Reed of Australia will seek a third consecutive crown in the 2017 Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Philippines which kicks off Aug. 6 in Cebu.

August Benedicto and Monica Torres will also try to keep their Filipino Elite titles in the 1.9K swim-90K bike-21K run race which starts and ends at Shangri-La Mactan.

Switzerland’s Caroline Steffen has opted not to compete for a fifth straight win in the ladies’ side but the field remains as talent-laden as ever with another Aussie, Dimity-Lee Duke, going for a follow-up to her breakthrough win in Regent 5150 Triathlon in Subic recently.
