Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, as Lee Jenkins of Sports Illustrated revealed, has a habit of storming of his team’s locker room after his bad games.
Drenched in sweat and still wearing his home jersey, Antetokounmpo would drive to a far away gym and shoot jumpers and let his frustrations out before going home.
And Antetokoumpo said Sunday he does that as to prevent himself from facing his family while he’s in a bad mood.
“It’s a way to just clear my mind and take my frustrations away from my family and not take my frustrations back home,” said Antetokoumpo during his media availability for “Greek Freak Invades Manila,” a charity event King Bally Entertainment Group organized.
Antetokounmpo, who won the 2017 Most Improved Player of the Year award, said it doesn’t matter if he had a high-scoring game but if his team lost he will put on extra work before going home.
“Sometimes I can have 30 points and still think it’s a bad game for me because I did not do what I was supposed to do to help my team win,” said Antetokoumpo, who developed that habit when he was younger.
“It was all about ‘oh if I made this shot I was open but I did not make it so I will go the gym and shoot more so I can make it in the future,” said Antetokounmpo.
