Perlas Pilipinas suffered another lopsided loss, this time, at the hands of powerhouse Australia, 107-65, in the 2017 Fiba Women’s Asia Cup Monday at Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium at Bangalore, India.
The Philippines was determined to give a better showing but it just couldn’t match Australia’s firepower and had little to counter its huge size advantage.
Sara Blicavs collected 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals for Australia, which improved to 2-0 in Group B after beating South Korea in the opener.
Australia put the game away early as it took a 68-23 lead at the half.
The Philippines, which got clobbered by defending champion Japan, 106-55, on Sunday, slipped to 0-2.
