Flying V outclassed Zark’s Burgers, 97-59, to move one win away from an elimination round sweep in the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Tuesday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

It was business as usual for Jeron Teng, who secured his second straight triple-double with 20 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the unstoppable Thunder to their 9th win.

Teng, the top MVP candidate, scattered 21 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists in a blowout victory over AMA Online Education last week.

“I have to give credit to my teammates because no matter how good my pass was, if they couldn’t shoot, then it’s impossible for me to get a triple double,” said Teng. “But I think we’re a talented team and anyone can score in our team. Anyone can have a breakout game and is capable of scoring.”

It was a no bearing game for Flying V, which already clinched an outright semifinals berth with a 9-0 record.

“We just wanted to do our best in this time so we don’t lose our sharpness going into the playoffs,” said head coach Eric Altamirano

The Thunder clicked on both ends of the floor, shooting 52% from the field while holding the Jawbreakers to just 28%.

Flying V was up, 56-29, at the half before stretching its lead to 43 in the fourth quarter.

The Thunder shoot for a 10-0 eliminations sweep against Batangas on Tuesday.

Former PBA veteran Mac Cardona paced Zark’s with 20 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
