ANTIPOLO CITY—Alaska is in the midst of the worst storm in franchise history after losing 11 straight games that has spanned two conferences and four months, but instead of moping around and doing nothing head coach Alex Compton knows there’s no way to go but up.
“We just have to keep fighting,” said Compton after the Aces lost their third in as many games in the PBA Governors’ Cup in a 101-92 disappointment against Star Friday at Ynares Sports Center here.
“We just got to pull ourselves up, it’s definitely not for a lack of effort I can assure you that.”
This conference, the Aces have they lost their games by an average of 6.33 points, which is respectable at best.
Compton said the team is obviously frustrated with the string of losses and there would be a problem if there’s no negativity surrounding their dismal performance.
“All of us [are frustrated],” said Compton. “In this sport you don’t do one play right and you’re going to end up frustrated, our thing is ‘next play, next play.’”
“If we weren’t frustrated we have serious problems and if losing 11 straight was okay, we better be frustrated.”
