Tee snares US Kids title

The Philippines’ Mariel Isabella Tee shot a one-over par 73 Saturday to rule the US Kids Golf Foundation’s Teen World Championship 2017 at the Pinehurst courses in North Carolina on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

Counting her earlier rounds of 77 and a tournament-best 70, the 15-year-old Tee pooled a 54-hole total of 220, four-over par but two shots up on Taiwanese Ling-Jie Chen (72-78-62) in the premier Girls’ 15 to 18 division.

Tee, who hails from Pasig City, was the lone player among 62 bets to break par with that 70.

China’s He Xi Yuan wound up third following a second straight 75 and a 223 total. —ROY LUARCA
