Jr Blu Girls bow to Mexicans
The Philippines failed to capitalize on Yeraldine Carrion’s solid pitching and bowed to Mexico, 0-1, in the XII Junior Women’s World Championship in Clearwater, Florida, Saturday.
Carrion came through with a no-hit, no-run and no-walk effort while striking out five in a superb seven-inning job.
Team PH starter Royevel Palma and sub Sierra Lange pitched a combined five hits against Mexico.

After a ground-out by the next batter, Paula Valdes stepped up to the plate and launched a sacrifice fly to left that allowed Flores to deliver what turned out to be the marginal run in the Placement Round matchup.
Mexico awaits the winner between the Philippines and Dominican Republic Sunday in a battle for a higher finish.
