Torres is set to fight Thai contender Rika Ishige in her first fight in the Asian promotion on Saturday in ONE: Kings & Conquerors here.

“I look at Rika and I know I can take her on,” said Torres in Filipino as if she flicked a switch to turn her confidence on. “I don’t know if I’ll knock her out or submit her but I know I can take her on and I’ll do my best to represent the Philippines.”

Torres looked like a wallflower in the elevated panel during the press conference but seemed at home when talking to Filipino reporters once she got out of the stage.

The 21-year-old gamely answered in her local tongue and expressed her eagerness to step into the ONE cage come Saturday at Cotai Arena.
