LOOK: Kobe’s in-game used Air Jordan 3s sell for $30k

Much like every player worth his salt, Kobe Bryant has his own signature line of shoes named after him.

“The Black Mamba” donned this vast collection from Nike for most of his 20-year career, but on one rare occasion he wore a customized pair of Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 3s.

The nifty pair, which featured the Laker colors of purple and gold as secondary shades, was recently auctioned off on eBay for a staggering $30,400 (over P1.5 million).

According to shoe connoisseur Darren Griffin of Nice Kicks, the shoes are labeled as the “Home White” colorway, and were exclusively released for Bryant in the 2002-03 NBA regular season while he was in between shoe deals.

The size 14 shoes were worn by Bryant twice, during games against the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs, Griffin confirmed.

Meanwhile, Bryant is currently enjoying the perks of retirement after walking away from the game last season.

The shoe’s recent popularity online could provide a bigger demand from sneaker enthusiasts, but Nike and the Air Jordan Brand have yet to announce if they’ll be reviving the rare colorway anytime soon.  Khristian Ibarrola /ra
