Creamline got a head start in the race for the bronze medal after putting down Philippine Air Force, 25-16, 25-21, 25-19, in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Saturday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Cool Smashers, who went on an 8-0 tear early in the competition, lost two straight to Bali Pure in the Final Four and will now settle for a crack at third place.

Pau Soriano and Rosemarie Vargas led the Cool Smashers, who have played without skipper Alyssa Valdez since the end of the elimination round, with 11 points apiece while Cesca Raqraquin and Rizza Mandapat combined for 16.

Mary Ann Pantino led the Lady Jet Spikers with seven points.
