Teenage speed brothers TJ and Troy Alberto covered each other’s back pretty solid to fashion out a stunning 1-2 finish for Team Ducati in the fourth leg of the 2017 Pirelli Superbikes Series at Clark International Speedway recently.
The 19-year-old TJ duplicated the shock first-leg triumph of Troy, 17, by topping the Open and Expert crowns in a race that many had expected would be a battle royale between defending champion and overall leader Marvin Mangulabnan of BMW Motorad and Troy.
Troy ruled the nine-lap race by 0.134 of a second while Mangulabnan checked in 1.695 seconds behind TJ.
TJ ruled the Superbikes Intermediate over Troy while Ian Mortimer topped the Pirelli Superbikes Novice. —STEVE SILVA
