Standhardinger signs with Hong Kong in ABL
Bolstering its roster for the upcoming 2018 ASEAN Basketball League season, reigning champion Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions have signed up Christian Standhardinger as their Heritage import for their title retention bid.
You First Basket, the Fil-German big man’s agency, confirmed the news on Sunday in a tweet.
Article continues after this advertisementThe 28-year-old Standhardinger has impressed in his short stint with Gilas Pilipinas, leaving a strong impression thanks to his fearless style of play down low.
He averaged 11.8 points and 7.4 rebounds in his debut for the national team in the 2017 Jones Cup and upped his scoring in the 2017 Fiba Asia Cup, netting 15.5 markers and 6.5 boards through the three games in the group stages.
Standhardinger’s addition to Hong Kong keeps the squad as the favorites in the regional league as he joins defending ASEAN Heritage MVP Tyler Lamb and World Import MVP Marcus Elliott this coming season.
