Dizon nails third karting victory in a row
John Dizon of Edgesport Racing stretched his victory streak to three with a resounding win over Japanese favorite Takaharu Nakamori in the fourth round of the 2017 Petron ROK Karting Super Series at Carmona Racetrack in Cavite recently.
With Nakamori unable to get back into the race due to engine problems, Dizon soloed it home with a 9.422-second victory margin over Mikey Jordan of Apex Racing in the 20-lap ROK Senior Blaze 100 class and pulled farther ahead in the overall standings.
Jenn Tumambing, also of Apex, checked in third.
Article continues after this advertisementDizon also copped the ROK Novice Blaze 100 title over Jordan and Garcia; Tumambing emerged the ROK Expert Blaze 100 winner over Nakamori while William Tan clinched the ROK Veterans Blaze 100 crown over Ephraim Mandal.
Dizon will spearhead the country’s quest against the best in the region when the Philippines hosts the second leg of the 2017 Asian Karting Open Championships on Aug. 26 and 27, also at Carmona Racetrack.
