The Philippine men’s national volleyball team yielded to powerhouse Vietnam, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20, at the start of the 29th Southeast Asian Games volleyball competition Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

The Filipinos may have faltered in straight sets but they had their moments especially in the third set, where they managed to take a 16-13 edge.

But the errors piled up for the Philippines, allowing Vietnam to take control, 23-19, en route to the victory.

The Vietnamese hope to win the gold medal this time after settling for second place in the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore following a three-set loss to Thailand.
