MANILA, Philippines–ALREADY ASSURED of a berth in the next round, San Sebastian-Excelroof still flashed lethal form  in crushing  Far Eastern U in straight sets yesterday to finish as the top team of the elimination round of the Shakey’s V-League Season 7 second conference at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.   The Lady Stags refused to pull their punches as Jeng Bualee and Suzanne Roces led San Sebastian to a 25-17, 25-11, 25-17 triumph, their sixth victory in seven games.   Adamson forced a logjam at second heading into the quarterfinals after blasting Ateneo, 22-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-22, in the second game.   The Lady Falcons tied their victims at 5-2 record while the Lady Tamaraws, who were riding high on a four-game winning streak until yesterday, fell to 4-3.   The four teams that played yesterday, along with Lyceum, already clinched quarterfinal slots.   National U and Perpetual Help dispute the sixth and last quarterfinal berth on Sunday.   “We just want to collect as many wins as possible to have a better position heading into the next round,” San Sebastian coach Roger Gorayeb said.   Bualee finished with 23 points on 20 hits, while Roces finished with 13, including eight kills and three blocks. The duo accounted for half of the team’s 45 kills.   The Lady Stags put up a virtual wall at the net, holding the Lady Tamaraws to just 18 kills in the match that lasted just 59 minutes.   Rachel Anne Daquis, who came into the game averaging 15 points, led FEU with 10 points. But Daquis wasn’t the only Lady Tamaraw who struggled.   Michelle Carolino, another FEU guest player, finished with just six points.   In showing their readiness for the tougher grind ahead, the Lady Falcons drew firepower from Nerissa Bautista and Angela Benting, who posted 25 and 19 points, respectively.
