(Game 3 of best-of-three series)
ATENEO disputes the last championship berth against National University in the Shakey’s V-League today.
After forfeiting their Game 1 victory, the Lady Eagles hope to keep their focus against the Lady Bulldogs in the rubber match of their semifinal duel at 4 p.m. at the FilOil-Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Adamson claimed the first title slot after sweeping University of St. La Salle-Bacolod, 2-0, last Tuesday in the other best-of-three semifinal match.
The favored Lady Eagles could have similarly swept their own series after downing the Lady Bulldogs in straight sets, 25-14, 25-18, 25-20, in Game 2 also last Tuesday.
But league officials nullified the Lady Eagles’ 25-27, 25-14, 25-10, 25-19 victory in the opener for fielding libero in reserve Bea Tan as a regular player.
“We just have to keep our mindset and remain positive,” said Ateneo coach Charo Soriano. Jasmine W. Payo
