Double gold for PH boxing as Marcial, Marvin deliver

Eumir Marcial pounded Thai Pathomsak Kuttiya for his second straight gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games, this time in the middleweight division in the Kuala Lumpur Games Thursday.

Now fighting as a middleweight, Marcial was also the top boxer in the welterweight division in the 2015 Singapore Games.

Light heavyweight John Marvin also triumphed for the Philippines earning a stoppage victory to win the gold against Malaysian Adli Hapidz Bin Mohd Fauzi.

The ring official stopped the action just 21 seconds into the fight with Marvin dominating the hometown bet on all angles.

Mario Fernandez, meanwhile, settled for the silver in the bantamweight division after Chatchai Butdee of Indonesia bagged the gold.
