Elmer Abatayo continued the Philippines’ haul in the lawn bowls competition in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games, bagging the bronze medal in men’s singles Sunday at the National Lawn Balls Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
Abatayo outlasted Brunei’s Abd Rahman Omar, 21-20, in the battle for third place as the country gained its sixth medal in lawn balls.
That hiked the Philippines’ lawn bowls collection to one gold, three silvers, and two bronze medals.
Muhammad Soufi Rusli of host Malaysia won the gold medal in men’s singles, while Singapore’s Lee Yuan Min settled for silver.
