Mangulabnan, Mauricio out to pad bike leads
Defending champions Marvin Mangulabnan and Gian Carlo Mauricio set out to firm up their overall leads in their respective bike series in the 2017 Eneos Philippine Motorsports Championships Sunday at Batangas Racing Circuit.
Mangulabnan shoots for a third victory in five races in the Pirelli Superbikes Championship Series after getting upstaged by Team Ducati’s TJ and Troy Alberto in the fourth leg.
The BMW Motorad Racing ace has pooled 178 points in four races with Troy and TJ Alberto close behind with 163 and 142, respectively.
Mauricio of JVT Racing paces the Underbone and Scooter series after topping the two races for the second time this season. He leads Nino Fabian by three points with 81 in Underbone and McKinley Kyle Paz by 17 with 97 in Scooter. —STEVE SILVA, CONTRIBUTOR
