Through the first round of NCAA Season 93, no team has yet to unlock the secret to beating Lyceum.
But for the 2017 NCAA All-Star Game, coach Topex Robinson did not hesitate to let the other players have a glimpse on the system that makes the Pirates go.
“He did not hide anything. Whatever he says to us, he shared it all to our teammates,” admitted CJ Perez, as he led the Heroes crew, which also consisted of stars from JRU, EAC, Arellano, and Mapua, on Friday.
Robinson pulled no punches as he tried to inspire more cagers in playing the game the right way.
Players like Kent Salado, Sidney Onwubere, and Tey Teodoro replicating the way the Pirates operate on both ends.
“Even if it’s just an All-Star Game, coach wanted us to look at it differently, that we still play our game even if it’s the All-Star,” said Perez.
Unfortunately for Robinson and Perez, the two suffered their first defeat of the season as the Heroes fell to the Saints, 84-80.
“We’re not affected by it. We know this loss won’t matter in the second round of the NCAA,” said Perez, his focus now stapled on to the next games.
Perez also relished the rare chance of playing with his fellow NCAA stars.
“It’s great because we’re able to joke with each other on the court and enjoy our time together. It’s great that we’re able to inspire and entertain people with this.”
