Lyceum and San Beda tightened their grip of top spots, while San Sebastian climbed into a tie of fourth spot as the three teams rolled to convincing victories on Friday in NCAA Season 93 at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Pirates encountered little resistance from the St. Benilde Blazers, 83-69, for their 11th straight victory, while the Red Lions overcame the absence of coach Boyet Fernandez and standouts Robert Bolick and Clint Doliguez in an 88-70 demolition of the Mapua Cardinals.

The Stags needed a strong second half to pummel the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals, 81-69, and even their card at 5-5 for a share of fourth spot with the Letran Knights.

Facing a team that was decimated by injuries this season, San Beda proved it had more than enough firepower to handle the Cardinals.

AC Soberano finished with 17 points, while Javee Mocon tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Lions, who sent the Cardinals crashing to 1-10.

Fernandez, Doliguez and Bolick were suspended for their involvement in the melee that marred the Lions’ win against the Blazers last Tuesday.

CJ Perez once again led the way for the Pirates with 14 points, while MJ Ayaay added 12 points.
