Adamson skipper Jema Galanza has went through it all for the Lady Falcons, from contending in the Final Four back in Season 76 to just trying to compete as they languished in the bottom four the following years.

Galanza has had to carry the pressure head coach Air Padda put on her as the captain of the team, but it seems the skipper has finally managed to lighten that burden down.

The Lady Falcons recorded their first winning streak under Padda in any tournament and Galanza was proud that they were finally able to repay their head coach.

“We’re proud that we are finally able to show what we’ve been doing in training to the games we’re playing in,” said Galanza in Filipono Saturday after leading Adamson over Arellano 25-20, 25-22, 25-18, in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference.

“We were so happy that we were all shouting because before we were the ones who were getting swept now we’re the ones doing the sweeping.”

And Adamson’s triumph didn’t come from any run of the mill team; it was against the defending NCAA champions.

And Galanza, who had 18 points in the match, is aware of the magnitude the Lady Chiefs have.

“It’s just uplifting that the team we beat for our second straight win was Arellano and we all know how good that team plays,” said Galanza as the Lady Falcons improved to 2-0 to lead Group B.

“We didn’t relax one bit because once we do that or we start to underestimate them they can come back.”
