Timberland Heights to host first Spartan Sprint Philippines

Filinvest and Spartan Race, Inc. team up to bring the world’s best obstacle course race to the Philippines. In a Memorandum of Agreement signed by both parties, Timberland Heights, a Filinvest townscape located in San Mateo, Rizal will host the country’s first Spartan race dubbed “Spartan Sprint Philippines at Timberland Heights” slated on September 16, 2017.

Spartan Race is a series of obstacle races of different lengths and difficulty level ranging from 5 kilometers to marathon distances. Spartan races are held in the United States and have been franchised to 14 countries including Canada, South Korea, Australia, European countries, and the Philippines. The series include the Super Spartan, the Spartan Beast, the Ultra Beast and the Spartan Sprint.

All Spartan courses are designed to physically challenge every participant, who are assured to go through mud, water, barbed wire and other obstacles. Spartan Sprint Philippines is the shortest distance yet designed but it includes more than 20 signature Spartan obstacles suitable for athletes of all levels; from Spartan newbies to seasoned racers.

Filinvest President and CEO, Josephine Gotianun Yap said that they are excited with the upcoming event. “Timberland Heights welcomes the first Spartan race in the Philippines. This event is in line with our vision for Timberland Heights as an eco-adventure destination. We believe that the terrain and the lush mountain surroundings will give the race a more thrilling ambiance. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy nature while competing.”
