It will be a three-team race for the PAL Ladies Interclub’s Championship division crown starting Sept. 19 as Pradera Verde makes its debut in Cebu City to crowd defending champion Manila Southwoods-Masters and host Cebu Country Club for the centerpiece title.

Teenagers will spearhead all three squads, with Sofia Chabon and Harmie Constantino now leading SW-Masters’ charge after Pauline del Rosario turned pro and Abegail Arevalo skipped the event because of studies at San Jose State in the US.

Yuka Saso and Harmie Constantino, veterans of the Junior World Golf Championship in San Diego, will anchor Pradera Verde, while Irina and Junia Gabasa carry the fight for Cebu CC.

SW-Masters has won the last six editions of this event and the Carmona-based squad has done nothing but seriously prepare for the bid to extend its historic reign.

“They are very determined to win again, especially with the field being so tough,” Southwoods golf director and former pro Jerome Delariarte said.

Cebu CC will have home court edge in the 72-hole championship, with the age-old layout requiring precision more than length off the tees.
