Nakamori edges Dizon for Karter of Year title
Japanese expatriate Takaharu Nakamori of Apex Racing topped the sixth and final round by three seconds over chief rival John Dizon to wrap up the overall title in the 2017 Petron X30 Karting Challenge Cup at Carmona Racetrack recently.
Nakamori’s victory in the X30 Senior Petron Blaze 100 class also meant he clinched the Karter of the Year Award with 221 points in the series, nine up on Dizon of Edgesport Racing who had earlier moved within seven points of the Japanese after ruling the fifth round.
Eduardo Coseteng Jr. of Eagle Cement-Petron Racing secured the Junior Karter of the Year plum after sweeping the Pre-Final and Final races of Rounds 5 and 6 for 270 points overall.
