Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas is doing everything to secure visas for American import Isaiah Austin and Congolese standout Rod Ebondo so they can suit up for the country in the 2017 Fiba Asia Champions Cup starting Friday in Chenzhou, China.
On the eve of the team’s departure, Austin, a 7-foot-1 star from Baylor, and Ebondo, the wiry forward of CEU, are still unsure if they can play in the event.
“We’re moving heaven and earth to secure their visas,” said coach Chot Reyes. “That’s the reason we have 12 players and two alternates.”
