Dzi Gervacio will suit up for Foton in the Philippine Superliga, putting the former Ateneo stalwart with the same official she criticized heavily early this year.
But the feud is apparently water under the bridge as PSL president Ramon “Tats” Suzara dismissed fears that their past would lead to a disadvantaged stint by Gervacio with Foton.
“It was unfortunate that rivalries sometimes take the best out of us all,” said Suzara. “Negativity has no place in our quest to become the leading sports league in the country.
“Ms. Gervacio would be assured that she will be treated the same as the other players. I hope she plays her best for Foton and becomes one of the reasons for the team’s continuing success in the Superliga,” added Suzara.
Gervacio took to social media early this year to protest what she felt was Suzara’s poor handling of import credentials of PSL rival Premier Volleyball League.
But in a closed-door meeting Friday, Gervacio, who was accompanied by her mother, apologized to Suzara and the two put their quarrel behind them.
Foton is seeking a three-peat when the PSL Grand Prix starts Oct. 21.
