Kevin Ferrer is hoping to return to action as soon possible for Ginebra Ginebra.

The Ginebra rookie is looking to return on Friday after he missed the Gin Kings’ 121-94 Game 1 rout of TNT in their 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals series on Monday.

The 24-year-old forward suffered a slight fracture on his left cheek after a freak fall in the Gin Kings elimination game against TNT last September 23.

The former UST stalwart said he’s just awaiting the green light from the doctors. He has already returned to the team’s practice, but limited to only non-contact drills.

“It’s already normal. There’s no more pain. I’m just resting and waiting for the go signal of our doctors,” he said.

Rather than be down, Ferrer is taking advantage of the extended time to heal up as the Kings prepare for the bigger wars ahead.

“This is the time where I shouldn’t be down. I have to prepare for the time when I make the comeback and I hope that I’ll be better when I return,” he said.

Ferrer has been averaging 5.25 points on a 38-percent shooting from three, to go with 1.25 rebounds in 12.4 minutes of play this conference.

Ginebra shoots for a 2-0 series lead against TNT on Wednesday in Batangas.
