Currently out of the NCAA Final Four picture, San Sebastian’s path to the playoffs couldn’t be stiffer as the end of the elimination round nears.

That’s why coach Egay Macaraya is motivating his players to be at the best of their capablities as the Golden Stags seek to make a belated run in NCAA Season 93.

“Every game we have will be a difficult one because we have a small team. So every game, I’m really pushing the boys to do whatever we could to get the win,” he said.

San Sebastian braces for a desperate Arellano squad fighting for survival on Tuesday before wrapping up its elimination round schedule against the upset-seeking Mapua and Perpetual Help.

Michael Calisaan, however, would rather look at the tough stretch in a positive light.

“If we win and we sweep our last three games, we still have a chance,” the senior forward said. “The teams above us will still play each other. So our focus is preparing ourselves for the next games and improving our game.”

“Our confidence never wanes. So what we have to do is to compose ourselves and continue fighting on,” he said.

The Stags are aiming to make the Final Four for the first time since 2013.
