Far Eastern University coach George Pascua was pleased with his team’s performance despite losing to National University in Game 1 of the PVL Collegiate Conference Finals.
Gutsy and resolute, the Lady Tamaraws had their moments against the undefeated Lady Bulldogs and nearly forced a deciding fifth set.
“I’m satisfied because they showed their best,” said Pascua after FEU dropped a 25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 26-24 decision Wednesday night. “The difference was just the endgame.”
FEU offered a stiff challenge and gave NU a run for its money despite missing the services of its team captain Bernadeth Pons and Kyla Atienza, who are suiting up for the Lady Tams in the UAAP beach volleyball.
Both are likely to miss Saturday’s Game 2 as well but Pascua said the team will be ready without their two key players.
Pascua, though, said he would like to see the Lady Tamaraws to show how bad they want to win.
“We still lack killer’s instinct and desire to win because they already have the skill.”
